How does Afnan Supremacy Noir smell?
Supremacy Noir starts with a peppery flash. Pepper is dry and prickly, oregano gives a green, savoury herbal note, and bergamot lends a clean citrus peel brightness over the top. The opening is brisk and slightly aromatic, with a little sourness from the citrus keeping the herbs from tasting heavy.
Next come amber, labdanum and opoponax, which are warm, sticky and balsamic, with a faint animal darkness from the labdanum. The base is built from leather, sandalwood, patchouli and oud: a smooth hide accord, milky wood, damp earth and a brooding, resinous depth. It ends dark, woody and rich.
